Physical Education
Sport is an integral part of life at BHS. We pride ourselves on the fact that our provision caters for everyone, from squad players aiming for excellence in competition, to recreational activities such as Yoga. We believe in a philosophy of 'sport for all' and enjoyment plays a large part in this too. Within the curriculum, we aim to provide a varied programme of activities, encouraging the pupils toward a lifelong appreciation of physical activity, health, and general wellbeing. We want all students to enjoy and participate in PE and inspire them to take part out of school now and for the rest of their lives.
We are proud of the programme offered to the pupils and of the lofty standards that we consistently achieve. We aim to provide an outlet for pupils to escape the stresses of academic life and to develop their love for sport in a fun and active environment. Pupils can try anything: 'have a go' is our motto, you never know what you can achieve. We have excellent on-site sporting facilities, including netball and tennis courts, a gymnasium, a dance studio and aim to have the local leisure centre as our “home” using the all-weather pitch for training and fixtures all year round.
